A good name is the result of good behaviour. A special gift to be treasured; It is one of wisdom's most prized possession; therefore we are admonished to guard the avenues of our soul, our five senses, the doorway to the blessed life. To live successfully we have to live wisely and travel the path of wisdom which inevitably will lead to a successful life.
We are told a "gift in secret pacifies anger, and a bribe behind the back, strong anger." It is equally true to say that "He who guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from trouble."
Look around you, can you see the chaos in our world? Most of which could be settled if these wise words were heeded.
Another truth which can be added is this, the one who gains the trust of others, because of his integrity, we are told, "Getting treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death." also the "violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice. Honesty is still the best policy.
May we endeavour to strive to maintain a good name, and thereby we will be able to influence those we associate with. Remember you are what you think; as a man thinketh so is he.
"By virtue of the thoughts, which we choose and encourage; our mind is the master-weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance." James Allen.
