Not A Spark of Decency

Maurice Baring could relate to not a spark of decency in his time, he would surely find a place in my company, when he states, "Whoever one is, and wherever one is, one is always in the wrong if one is rude."

David surely experienced the same when he remarked, "Surely in vain I have guarded all that this man has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that belonged to him; and he has returned me evil for good."

Have you ever experienced Rudeness from another? How did it make you feel? A lack of respect for each other can cause a breakdown in  the relationship. The word of God gives us advice as to how we should relate to each other.

Adding insult to injury

He said he was sick, his plan designed to hoodwinked his father. "Send my sister to my house to make me some cakes," he said, "that I may get well." The father told his daughter, Amnon's sister to go to her brother and prepare some food for him.  Not knowing of his wicked plan, that Amnon was feigning sickness in order to accomplish his evil plan. She went to his house to do as she was asked and alas! She was raped and humiliated by her brother and adding insult to injury he chased her away from his home. (2 Samuel 13:1-21).

Food For Thought

"Unlike money, hope is all for the rich as well as for the poor" Fausto Cercignani

There is constant need for us to foster hope, how solemn is the reflection that with each new day comes a new beginning. New mercies will be experienced. Therefore through our conversations, our expectancy in life as well as our dealing with each other let us not be anxious about the future.

Take Heart

If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Job 14:14. This question was asked many years ago by Job, and today we are still asking the question. Many have become disheartened and worried as they look upon the times we live in. However we are reminded to take heart as Christ said, "in my Fathers house are many mansions I go to prepare a place for you."

Dealing With Depression

"When depression settles upon the soul, it is no evidence that God has changed. He is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever." ...if the clouds sweep over your soul, you must not feel that you are forsaken. Your faith must pierce the gloom. Your eye must be single, and your whole body shall be full of light. The riches of the grace of Christ must be kept before the mind. Treasure up the lessons that His love provides."
