OUT OF THE HEART

We are told from the word of God "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."  Luke 6:45  "The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart."

Words matter, and it is important we carefully select our words when addressing others. Our words have the power to bring happiness or sadness to another. It is very easy to tell the character of anyone by his/her conversations. one-reason-to-nurture-your-heart.

The Bible uses the heart and the mind interchangeably. We have to be very selective of the thoughts we allow to crowd our mind. We must take control of our thoughts and not allow our thoughts to wander, because it is our thoughts that become actions.

On the other hand we are told the tongue of the wise is health. Yes our words mean much and therefore we should pay attention to the things we say. It is God who gives us the gift of speech and he expects us to use it to his glory. This means our words should bless others and bring out the best in them, not tear them down or destroy them. Never should we allow others to feel unworthy especially when in our presence.

Our words are powerful, they express our feelings, they tell of our love for family, friends and of God. They also tell of our hatred and our evil intent towards each other. They have the power to spread kindness, and bring comfort to the broken hearted as well as praises to our maker.

Let us carefully and thoughtfuly contemplate our words and not utter foolish words. Words matter they mean much they have power over our character as well as the characters of others. Let us endeavor to use words that uplift others, words that are lovely, just, honest and truthful and always think of these things so that out of the abundance of our hearts we can express love, appreciation, devotion and thanksgiving to the giver of the precious gift of the tongue as we endeavor to become a blessing to all.
