How Gratitude Transforms Relationships and Well-Being.

Maurice Baring could relate to not a spark of decency in his time, he would surely find a place in my company, when he states, "Whoever one is, and wherever one is, one is always in the wrong if one is rude." Actions to avoid.

Samuel 25:21, where David expresses his frustration after being treated unfairly by Nabal:
"Surely in vain I have guarded all that this man has in the wilderness so that nothing was missed of all that belonged to him, and he has returned me evil for good." (1 Samuel 25:21, ESV)

The Story Behind David’s Words

David and his men had been living in the wilderness, protecting the flocks and property of Nabal, a wealthy but harsh and arrogant man. Despite their efforts to safeguard Nabal’s possessions, David and his men received no gratitude. When David sent messengers to request provisions, Nabal responded with insults and outright rejection, refusing to acknowledge David’s kindness.

"Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. Why should I take my bread and water and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers and give it to men coming from who knows where?" (1 Samuel 25:10-11, NIV)

"The Ripple Effects of Injustice in Families and Society"

Amnon, the son of King David, devised a deceitful plan to manipulate his father and lure his sister, Tamar, into his home. Feigning illness, he lay in bed and requested that his father send Tamar to prepare food for him, claiming that her presence and care would aid in his recovery. Unaware of his sinister intentions, King David instructed Tamar to go to her brother’s house and prepare a meal for him.

Obedient and unsuspecting, Tamar arrived at Amnon’s home, diligently kneading the dough and baking the cakes as requested. She sought only to serve her brother, fulfilling her father’s wishes with kindness. However, Amnon’s sickness was nothing more than a ruse, a cruel deception designed to isolate Tamar and carry out his wicked desires.

As she brought the food to him, Amnon seized her, revealing his true intentions. Tamar, horrified and pleading for mercy, implored him not to commit such a cruel act.

Food For Thought

"Unlike money, hope is all for the rich as well as for the poor" Fausto Cercignani

There is a constant need for us to foster hope, how solemn is the reflection that with each new day comes a new beginning, new mercies experienced. Therefore through our conversations, our expectancy in life as well as our dealings with each other let us not be anxious about the future.

Hope is a powerful force that carries us through life’s uncertainties. Each morning, as the sun rises, we are reminded that every day presents an opportunity for renewal—new mercies, new possibilities, and new reasons to believe that brighter days lie ahead.

Take Heart

If a man dies, shall he live again? ( Job 14:14) This question was asked many years ago by Job, and today we are still asking the question. Many have become disheartened and worried as they look upon the times we live in. However, we are reminded to take heart as Christ said. "In my Fathers house are many mansions, I go to prepare a place for you."Brevity and vanity of life.

Dealing With Depression

"When depression settles upon the soul, it is no evidence that God has changed. He is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever." ...if the clouds sweep over your soul, you must not feel that you are forsaken. Your faith must pierce the gloom. Your eye must be single, and your whole body shall be full of light. The riches of the grace of Christ must be kept before the mind. Treasure up the lessons that His love provides."
