How Gratitude Transforms Relationships and Well-Being.

Maurice Baring could relate to not a spark of decency in his time, he would surely find a place in my company, when he states, "Whoever one is, and wherever one is, one is always in the wrong if one is rude." Actions to avoid.

Samuel 25:21, where David expresses his frustration after being treated unfairly by Nabal:
"Surely in vain I have guarded all that this man has in the wilderness so that nothing was missed of all that belonged to him, and he has returned me evil for good." (1 Samuel 25:21, ESV)

The Story Behind David’s Words

David and his men had been living in the wilderness, protecting the flocks and property of Nabal, a wealthy but harsh and arrogant man. Despite their efforts to safeguard Nabal’s possessions, David and his men received no gratitude. When David sent messengers to request provisions, Nabal responded with insults and outright rejection, refusing to acknowledge David’s kindness.

"Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days. Why should I take my bread and water and the meat I have slaughtered for my shearers and give it to men coming from who knows where?" (1 Samuel 25:10-11, NIV)
